Montreal bakery vandalized again after anti-tech message left
Montreal bakery vandalized overnight as Mamie Clafoutis faces a second attack Police are investigating the Saint-Denis break-in and graffiti tied to tech fears
A Montreal bakery was vandalized overnight Wednesday, with its front windows smashed and an antitechnology message left on the wall outside. The incident happened at the SaintDenis Street location of Mamie Clafoutis and marks the second time in less than three months that the store has been targeted.
The bakery’s cofounder, Nicolas Delourmel, said police called him shortly after midnight to report the damage. Security footage shows an object striking the glass until it breaks, after which the person fled the scene. Nothing was stolen in this latest incident.
The SaintDenis location is one of two Mamie Clafoutis stores that switched to a selfserve model two years ago. The company has faced criticism over the change, including a previous breakin and graffiti in May linked to claims about facialrecognition technology, which the owners deny using. Montreal police said both investigations remain open and no arrests have been made.
