Hex says GPT6 Astra helps its data agents turn complex analysis into interactive visual reports that are easier for teams to understand and share. The company made the comments in an OpenAI startup story published on September 16, 2026. According to Hex cofounder and CTO Caitlin Colgrove, the model improves both the technical and presentation sides of data work. It can work through underlying libraries, handle difficult transformations such as geospatial visualizations, and produce outputs that are both functional and visually polished. Hex also says the model helps check whether an analysis actually answers the user’s question and fits the business goal. The company uses those capabilities to create written findings, trend lines, comparisons, and interactive dashboards that employees can explore across the organization.
