Americans say the economy is improving, but many would not change their vote

At the Great American State Fair in Washington, Fox News Digital asked attendees to rate the U.S. economy and whether it would affect their vote in the 2026 midterms. Many respondents gave the economy a passing grade, often a B, and said they see signs of job growth and improvement. Others pointed to ongoing price pressures, including gas and grocery costs, and rated conditions lower. Despite mixed views on the economy, several attendees said voting decisions would be driven more by values, leadership, and party preference than by economic performance alone. The survey was conducted as the country marked the Fourth of July and prepared for America 250 celebrations.
