Airlines waive change fees ahead of Northeast nor'easter
Airlines waive change fees as a nor'easter nears the Northeast this weekend Rebook without fees before mid-next week and avoid weather-related travel disruptions
U.S. airlines are waiving change fees for travelers as a nor'easter is expected to affect the Northeast this weekend.
United Airlines, American Airlines and JetBlue said customers flying to airports in the New York City area, Boston and smaller New England airports can change their trips without paying a fee or fare difference, as long as they rebook before midnext week.
The move comes as federal forecasters warn the storm could bring strong winds, heavy rain and possible flooding. Airlines are still monitoring the storm path, and there were only limited delays and few cancellations reported Friday morning.
