Toronto police identify second victim in separate vehicle fires
Toronto vehicle fire homicide investigation identifies Etobicoke victim Mohamud Kheyre Police probe a second fatal blaze in Scarborough; see what investigators have confirmed
Toronto police have identified the victim found in a burning vehicle in Etobicoke last week as 30yearold Mohamud Kheyre.
Police said Kheyre was discovered inside a vehicle fire near Royal York Road and Edenbridge Drive shortly before 1 a.m. on Tuesday. Investigators later determined the body had been badly burned, which delayed identification.
The Etobicoke case came about an hour and a half after officers responded to another vehicle fire in Scarborough, where 32yearold Marcus Charles of Scarborough was found dead. Police say both deaths are being investigated as homicides, but they have not confirmed whether the cases are connected. They also said there is no broader public safety threat.
