Findlay’s chief of staff resigns as more B.C. Conservative MLAs leave caucus
BC Conservatives caucus turmoil deepens as two more MLAs quit See what Findlay’s leadership crisis means for the party’s future
Two more British Columbia Conservative MLAs have left the party caucus, deepening the turmoil around Leader KerryLynne Findlay and her team.
Scott McInnes and Donegal Wilson both said they were stepping away amid concerns linked to Findlay’s reported ties to Alberta separatists. McInnes became the ninth MLA to defect in less than three weeks, while Wilson also said she would sit as an Independent.
Shortly after McInnes announced his decision, Findlay said her chief of staff, Chris Delaney, had resigned. Delaney has faced allegations that lawmakers were offered jobs in exchange for resigning so Findlay, who does not currently hold a legislature seat, could run in a byelection. Another former caucus member, Ian Paton, has said he was offered an adviser role, and police have since arranged to speak with him.
