Emma Maltais signs two-year deal with Montreal Victoire

The Montréal Victoire have signed forward Emma Maltais to a twoyear contract, adding a veteran scorer after winning their first Walter Cup title in the Professional Women's Hockey League. Maltais spent her first three PWHL seasons with the Toronto Sceptres, playing every game for the club and finishing last season with 10 points, including three goals. She has 38 points in 84 regularseason games and has also contributed in nine playoff games. The 26yearold twotime Olympian, who grew up in Burlington, Ontario, was a finalist for rookie of the year in the league’s first season and was the first PWHL player to score a shorthanded goal. Montreal also resigned defender Tamara Giaquinto and goalie Megan Warrener, while Seattle added defender Noemi Neubauerova on a oneyear deal.
