Montreal arson probe focuses on a Saint-Michel restaurant hit twice in 2 days No arrests yet—see how police are tracking the suspected repeat attack

Montreal police are investigating after the same restaurant in the SaintMichel neighbourhood was targeted by suspected arson for a second time in two days. Police said officers were called to JeanTalon Street near 22 Avenue shortly after 5 a.m. Monday after reports of a fire. By the time they arrived, people nearby were already trying to put out the flames inside the restaurant, according to police spokesperson Caroline Chèvrefils. Witnesses reported seeing a suspect enter the restaurant, set the fire and leave before police arrived. Chèvrefils said the restaurant was also set on fire on Sunday around 3 a.m. Damage was described as minor, and no arrests have been made. The case has been turned over to Montreal police arson investigators.
