Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre has moved several MPs into new shadow cabinet roles, including a new finance critic and a new foreign affairs critic.
Michael Chong, one of the party’s longestserving MPs, will take over the finance file after more than two decades in Parliament. Ontario MP Eric Duncan is moving into the foreign affairs role. The changes also give newer MPs responsibilities in areas such as energy, environment, industry, trade, justice and ethics.
The Conservatives are emphasizing affordability as a central theme of the reshuffle. Chong said he will focus on cost of living pressures, slow growth, weak productivity and lower capital investment, while senior party leadership roles remain unchanged.
