SBF asks Supreme Court to overturn conviction and forfeiture
Sam Bankman-Fried seeks Supreme Court review of his fraud conviction and $11B forfeiture Challenge the FTX ruling and see why his lawyers say the trial was unfair
Sam BankmanFried has asked the US Supreme Court to review his fraud conviction and an $11 billion forfeiture order, according to a report cited in a Thursday court filing.
His lawyers argued that the trial court wrongly kept out evidence about customer losses and his investment decisions, which they say could have shown FTX customers would have been repaid. They also said the forfeiture amount is excessive under the Constitution.
A federal appeals court upheld BankmanFried’s conviction and 25year prison sentence in June. He was convicted in 2023 and sentenced in March 2024 for fraud and conspiracy tied to the collapse of FTX.
