Claude joins Slack as an agentic coworker

Anthropic has launched Claude Tag, a new feature that brings its AI assistant into Slack channels so teams can tag it to help with work tasks. The tool is designed to handle requests asynchronously, break them into steps, and use approved tools and data to complete them. According to Anthropic, Claude can build context over time across channels, codebases, and other connected tools. It can also monitor activity in an ambient mode and follow up on tasks that have stalled or need attention. The release extends Claude’s agentlike capabilities from individual use cases into team workflows inside Slack, where much of daily business coordination already happens. Anthropic is rolling it out now, positioning it as a workplace assistant for engineering, marketing, and other team functions.
