Homicide investigation launched after missing man’s body found in Hamilton Harbour
Hamilton homicide investigation: Marcin Sydor's death near Pier 16 Police seek tips on his missing black Jetta and last-known movements
Hamilton police say the death of Marcin Sydor is now being treated as a homicide after his body was found along the Hamilton Harbour shoreline in Ontario.
Police said Sydor, 48, was found near Pier 16 on Friday morning, close to 386 Wilcox Street. A postmortem examination led investigators to classify the case as a homicide, although police have not released the cause of death or details about his injuries.
Sydor had been reported missing in April and was last seen on April 21 driving a black 2014 Volkswagen Jetta with tinted windows. Police said his disappearance was considered out of character and the homicide unit has taken over the investigation. Anyone with information about Sydor or the vehicle is being asked to contact police.
