Vancouver police theft case: Officer denies fraud, breach of trust allegations See key details on the $3M investigation, charges, and his lawyer’s response
A veteran Vancouver police officer accused of theft, fraud and breach of trust has denied any wrongdoing, according to a statement from his lawyer.
Kal Dosanjh, who has worked with the Vancouver Police Department for 26 years, was arrested last week in Surrey, British Columbia, following what police described as a covert investigation that lasted more than two years. Investigators say the case involves housing developments and alleged losses of more than $3 million.
Police say 19 people have reported losses between 2017 and 2025. Dosanjh’s lawyer says he disputes the allegations, has a long record of community service, and wants the legal process to run its course. Vancouver police have said they chose to handle the investigation internally after consulting the RCMP.
