President Donald Trump announced an expansion of the TrumpRx prescription drug discount program on Friday, saying the site now includes 160 additional medications and more than 800 discounted drugs overall.
According to Trump, the governmentbacked site is meant to help Americans find lower prices on commonly used prescriptions. The administration says the program was built through agreements with major drugmakers under a mostfavorednation pricing approach, with discounts available to eligible cashpaying consumers.
The White House has said the program includes lower prices on medicines such as GLP1 weightloss drugs, inhalers, HIV treatments, diabetes medications, and fertility drugs. Trump also said the initiative has already generated savings for patients since the site launched earlier this year.
