Police in Surrey, British Columbia, say a man was seriously injured in an overnight shooting outside a home in the Newton area, and a suspect has been arrested. According to Surrey Police Service, officers were called after midnight to the 14500 block of 75 Avenue, where they found a man inside a vehicle with gunshot wounds. Police provided first aid before paramedics took the victim to hospital. Investigators say the shooting appears to have been targeted, but it is not believed to be connected to the extortionrelated shootings that have affected parts of the city. Major crimes investigators are now leading the case.
