B.C. drug trafficking arrests: one man denied bail in cross-border probe RCMP-FBI case alleges cocaine and meth moves; see what's next in court

One of three B.C. men arrested earlier this month in a crossborder drug investigation has been denied bail, according to a hearing held Tuesday in Vancouver. Gurtej Smagh appeared by video in B.C. Supreme Court, while coaccused Ravinder Singh Dhanda and Jaskarn Baghri attended in person. The three are facing bail hearings before possible extradition proceedings to the United States. The arrests were part of Operation Hard Ball, a joint RCMP and FBI investigation. U.S. court records allege the men were involved in drug trafficking and that one of them obtained information from a Canada Border Services Agency source to help move cocaine and methamphetamine across the border. Bail hearings for Dhanda and Baghri are expected in August.
