Raccoon euthanized after trapping incident in Langley
Raccoon leg-hold trap incident in Langley raises wildlife cruelty concerns Report the tip to protect animals and help identify who set the trap
A young raccoon in Langley, British Columbia, had to be euthanized after its leg became caught in a leghold trap in a residential neighbourhood.
Critter Care Wildlife Society said a homeowner contacted them after seeing the animal dragging the trap, which may have been attached for several days. The group said the injuries were severe and the raccoon could not be saved.
The FurBearers animal protection group is offering a $1,000 reward for information that could help identify the person responsible. It says the trap may have violated provincial wildlife laws and is urging anyone with information to contact the BC Conservation Officer Service.
