Anthropic opens Seoul office and expands Korean AI partnerships

Anthropic has opened a new office in Seoul and announced a wider set of partnerships across South Korea’s AI ecosystem. The company said the move is meant to support its work with enterprises, startups, researchers, and developers building with Claude. The company highlighted adoption by Korean firms including NAVER, Nexon, LG CNS, Hanwha Solutions, Samsung SDS, and Channel Corp. These organizations are using Claude and Claude Code for software development, customer service, internal knowledge work, and other business applications. Anthropic also said it will work with the National AI Research Lab, a research consortium that includes KAIST, Korea University, Yonsei University, and POSTECH. The company plans to provide Claude access to up to 60 affiliated researchers focused on AI safety, evaluation, alignment, robustness, and frontier AI research. In the nonprofit sector, Good Neighbors Korea is using Claude to help reduce administrative work and support staff serving vulnerable children and communities.
