Warren Buffett said Kevin Warsh is a good choice to lead the Federal Reserve, offering a brief endorsement after Warsh’s recent appointment by President Donald Trump.
Buffett said Warsh will try to meet the Fed’s mandate of keeping inflation near 2% while supporting maximum employment, but noted that the job is difficult and no chair can be perfect.
Warsh took over the central bank in May and has already signaled a different approach to policy, including a push to bring down inflation. He is scheduled to appear before the Senate Banking Committee again on Wednesday.
