Several largecap stocks moved sharply before the opening bell on Friday as investors reacted to earnings and companyspecific news.
Intel gained after posting its strongest quarterly revenue growth in nearly 15 years, with secondquarter sales of $16.1 billion and adjusted earnings that topped estimates. Oracle rose on news of a 10year software agreement with the Pentagon, while Amkor Technology climbed after announcing a multiyear deal with Nvidia.
Other names were under pressure or posted more modest gains. American Express fell after a slight revenue miss, Deckers Outdoor slipped as results from key brands came in below expectations, and Robert Half and Charter Communications also declined after weakerthanexpected reports. Tenet Healthcare and SAP advanced after earnings beats, while Verizon and SLB moved higher on mixedtostrong quarterly results.
