Gas prices expected to rise in Toronto on Saturday
Toronto gas prices rise as costs near 191.9 cents a litre Saturday See what’s driving the jump and where prices may ease on Sunday
Gas prices in Toronto rose on Friday and are expected to climb again on Saturday, according to Canadians for Affordable Energy. The group said prices increased to about 185.9 cents per litre on Friday and could reach 191.9 cents per litre the next day.
Dan McTeague, president of Canadians for Affordable Energy, said drivers may see a small drop on Sunday if the forecast holds. He said the recent increase is tied in part to refinery pressures and market conditions linked to conflictrelated disruptions in the Persian Gulf.
Some Toronto residents said higher fuel costs are adding to broader inflation pressures. McTeague also said diesel prices are expected to ease on Saturday, although they remain elevated overall.
