Ukraine launched one of its largest drone attacks on Moscow since Russia’s fullscale invasion, hitting the Kapotnya oil refinery and sending smoke over parts of the city.
Russian officials said air defenses intercepted many drones, while the attack still disrupted daily life in the capital. Flights were temporarily suspended at major airports, traffic was restricted near the refinery, and authorities reported damage near a shopping center. The Moscow region governor said 16 people were injured.
The refinery is a key fuel supplier for Moscow and the surrounding region, and Ukraine has increasingly targeted Russian energy infrastructure as part of its wider war effort. Both sides have continued longrange strikes, though their battlefield claims could not be independently verified.
