Jabil focuses on simpler integration to support AI at scale

Jabil modernization: simplify systems and standardize operations for faster supply chain visibility, resilience, and AI-ready growth across global sites

Jabil, a global manufacturing company with more than 100 sites in over 30 countries, is prioritizing integration and standardization as it modernizes its operations. The company says its approach is to simplify systems first so new technologies do not add more complexity to an already fragmented environment. Speaking in a sponsored MIT Technology Review Business Lab episode, SAP IT director Harish Manohar said Jabil has dealt with years of sitespecific tools, manual workarounds, spreadsheets, and legacy applications. By consolidating processes and creating a more consistent data backbone, the company aims to improve visibility across its supply chain and respond more quickly to disruptions. Jabil is using SAP tools, including Integration Suite, BTP, and Signavio, to support an APIdriven and eventbased architecture. The company also wants to reduce heavy customization and move toward cleaner, more reusable systems that can scale across regions and business units. The article says this foundation is also meant to support future AI and automation use cases, such as predictive supply chain insights, intelligent exception handling, and AIdriven planning. Jabil says the goal is to connect technology investments directly to business value, operational resilience, and faster decisionmaking.
