OpenAI has released GPT5.6, a new model family that includes flagship Sol, along with Terra and Luna tiers. The launch also introduces ChatGPT Work and a redesigned desktop app that combines Codex features with browser and computercontrol tools.
According to the report, Sol scores slightly below Fable on one benchmark but performs well on agentic coding, computer use, design, and cybersecurity tasks. OpenAI says pricing stays aligned with GPT5.5, with lowercost options available across the lineup.
The company is also positioning ChatGPT Work as a more accessible agent for everyday tasks, expanding OpenAI’s move toward a broader software platform for both consumers and enterprise users.
