Peter Milobar named leader of CentreBC as former Conservatives join

CentreBC names Peter Milobar leader as former BC Conservatives join the party Focus on affordability, health care and safety, with a possible snap election ahead

Former BC Conservative caucus member Peter Milobar has been chosen as the new leader of CentreBC in British Columbia. The party said eight former BC Conservatives are joining CentreBC, which is expected to become the thirdlargest party in the B.C. legislature. Among them are Milobar, six other recent Conservative defectors and Eleanor Sturko, who was removed from the Conservative caucus last year. Mike Bernier said he is stepping down as CentreBC leader to make way for Milobar. Milobar said the party will focus on affordability, health care, and crime and safety, while also arguing that British Columbians may soon face a snap provincial election.
