Rudy Giuliani pneumonia update: he’s breathing on his own after ICU treatment Get the latest on his critical but stable condition and recovery progress
Former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani is breathing on his own again after being hospitalized with pneumonia and briefly placed on a ventilator, according to his spokesperson.
The 81yearold remains in critical but stable condition at a Florida hospital. His spokesperson said the illness was complicated by restrictive airway disease linked to exposure to dust and toxins after the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks in New York.
Giuliani was taken to hospital after coughing during a livestreamed talk show on Friday. His family and medical team are with him, and his spokesperson said they are grateful for support while he continues to be monitored.
