Major Quebec and Ontario police investigation underway into vehicle and aluminum theft in Montérégie

Police agencies in Quebec and Ontario are investigating a large theft case in SainteJulie, in Quebec’s Montérégie region, after officers found dozens of stolen vehicles and other items on a property. The search took place in late July after a witness tip led police to a site on Touraine Road. Investigators say more than 30 vehicles were recovered, including boats, trailers and tractors, many believed to have been stolen between 2019 and 2026 from locations across Quebec and Ontario. The case also involves aluminum ingots, which police say were among highvalue items stolen from transportation companies in recent months. That part of the investigation has been handed over to Quebec provincial police’s major crimes unit. Authorities say the inquiry remains ongoing and could take time because of the number of recovered items and the involvement of multiple police forces.
