GPT-6.1 Sol boosts coding, workflows, and computer use at a lower price Access it in ChatGPT Work, Codex, or the API for faster, smarter results

OpenAI has introduced GPT6.1 Sol, an updated model aimed at agentic coding, computer use, and professional workflows at a lower price than GPT6 Astra. The company says the model is available through ChatGPT Work and Codex for Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, and Edu users, and is also accessible through the OpenAI API. OpenAI says GPT6.1 Sol improves on GPT6 Sol in tasks such as writing and debugging code, analyzing documents, handling multistep business workflows, and interacting with software. The company also highlights gains in scientific research and factual accuracy, while noting that GPT6 Astra remains the strongest option for the most difficult research tasks. The standard API pricing for GPT6.1 Sol is listed at $2 per million input tokens, $0.10 per million cached input tokens, and $10 per million output tokens. OpenAI also says an ultrafast version is planned for Codex in the coming days.
