Nine schools in Halton Region received anonymous bomb threats on Thursday morning, prompting police responses and searches across the area.
Halton Regional Police said the threats came in a generic email sent to multiple school boards around 6 a.m. The affected schools included properties in both the Halton District School Board and Halton Catholic District School Board, as well as Appleby College in Oakville.
Police said officers carried out searches at all of the schools over several hours. No explosive devices were found, and investigators said there was no credible threat to public safety. The investigation is still ongoing.
