Markham music teacher faces sexual assault charges in youth case Police urge possible victims to come forward as the investigation continues

A Markham music teacher has been charged with sexual interference, sexual exploitation, and sexual assault in connection with a young person, York Regional Police said. Police say the alleged victim contacted investigators on July 6, 2026, and reported a sexual relationship with the suspect that began in 2022, when she was 15. The pair reportedly met through a Markham music studio where the suspect worked. York Regional Police laid charges on July 23 and said the teacher may have also instructed music elsewhere in the Greater Toronto Area. Investigators believe there could be additional victims and are asking anyone with information to come forward.
