Solana Foundation launches DvP settlement program

Solana DvP streamlines asset settlement for institutions with secure delivery-versus-payment. Cut settlement risk, speed transfers to seconds, and explore a reusable open-source option.

The Solana Foundation has introduced Solana DvP, an opensource settlement program aimed at helping financial institutions complete asset transfers and payments in seconds. The system uses deliveryversuspayment settlement on Solana, with both sides of a transaction executed together so that the transfer either settles in full or does not occur. The foundation said this could reduce securities settlement times from one or two days to seconds. According to the announcement, the program is designed to give institutions a reusable alternative to building custom smart contracts. JPMorgan’s digital assets markets head, Rhodel D’Souza, said the work reflects infrastructure that can help institutions operate at scale while reducing settlement risk and counterparty exposure.
