Argos wary of winless Redblacks ahead of Toronto matchup

Toronto Argonauts quarterback Chad Kelly says his team is preparing carefully for Saturday’s home game against the Ottawa Redblacks, even though Ottawa enters at 011 and has lost 17 straight dating back to last season. The game at BMO Field comes only five days after Toronto’s Labour Day win in Hamilton. It will also be the first meeting in Toronto for Ottawa head coach and general manager Ryan Dinwiddie, who previously led the Argos to Grey Cup titles in 2022 and 2024. Toronto won the earlier meeting between the teams 4424 at TD Place in June. Kelly threw for 424 yards and four touchdowns in that game, while Ottawa intercepted him four times. The Argos quarterback said Toronto must expect changes from an Ottawa team using several new players on defence. Argos head coach Mike Miller and receiver Damonte Coxie both said the team cannot overlook Ottawa despite its record. Toronto sits second in the East Division after improving its position with the Labour Day victory.
