Trump to meet with NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani on Monday
Trump Mamdani meeting spotlights NYC issues ahead of the U.N. General Assembly See what the Gracie Mansion talks could mean for New York and the midterms
President Donald Trump is scheduled to meet New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani on Monday at Gracie Mansion, according to the mayor’s office. The meeting comes ahead of the U.N. General Assembly in New York.
The mayor’s office said the discussion will focus on issues affecting New York City and its residents. Mamdani, a 34yearold democratic socialist, rose to national prominence after winning the 2025 New York City mayoral election.
The meeting is notable because Trump’s Republican Party has used Mamdani as part of its campaign messaging before the November midterm elections, while Trump himself has kept a relatively cordial relationship with the mayor.
