Gatineau police are investigating an apparent murdersuicide that left two people dead in the Hull sector on Wednesday morning.
Police said they were called around 2 a.m. to an apartment on Laurier Street after a possible earlystage fire was reported inside the unit. Officers found two unconscious people on the fourth floor, and both were pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators believe a 34yearold man killed his 30yearold partner before taking his own life. Police said forensic teams were sent to examine the scene, and more than 20 residents were evacuated from the building and helped by the Red Cross.
