SpaceX shares slide after a sharp pullback from their post-IPO surge See what the retreat means for retail buyers and the stock’s next move
SpaceX shares fell on Thursday after a sharp twoday decline, leaving the average investor who bought after the company’s IPO close to breaking even. The stock had climbed quickly after its debut before giving back much of those gains.
The shares dropped 3.6% to just under $184.98, while the fiveday volumeweighted average price was $181.71. That level suggests the typical postIPO buyer is now roughly near their purchase price.
SpaceX had surged from its $135 offering price to an intraday high above $225 earlier in the week, briefly lifting its market value close to $3 trillion. The recent pullback has reduced gains for retail investors who accessed the offering through brokerage platforms such as Robinhood, Fidelity, and SoFi.
