PWHL names Alison Izzi general manager of Vancouver Goldeneyes

Vancouver Goldeneyes GM Alison Izzi brings PWHL legal and hockey ops expertise Her mix of governance and team experience could help spark a stronger season

The Professional Women’s Hockey League has hired Alison Izzi as general manager of the Vancouver Goldeneyes, citing her background as a hockey lawyer and league executive. Izzi previously worked in the NHL’s legal department, where she focused on hockey operations and player safety, and also served as vicepresident of hockey operations and governance in the American Hockey League. PWHL executive vicepresident of hockey operations Jayna Hefford said Izzi’s experience across legal, governance and team operations made her a strong fit for the role. Izzi replaces Cara Gardner Morey, who stepped down as general manager after one season and became the team’s head coach in July. The Goldeneyes are coming off a 9183 inaugural season and were eliminated from playoff contention before the end of the year. The team also used the No. 1 pick in the 2026 draft to select defender Caroline Harvey, and the PWHL said Izzi fills the league’s final coaching or GM vacancy ahead of its fourth season.
