Quebec police watchdog investigates fatal motorcycle crash near Waterville Discover what happened after a rider fled officers in the Eastern Townships

Quebec’s independent police watchdog has opened an investigation after a motorcyclist died while trying to flee police in the Eastern Townships, east of Montreal. According to the Bureau des enquêtes indépendantes, Quebec provincial police saw the rider possibly commit traffic violations around 9:15 p.m. Tuesday near Waterville, Que. Officers attempted to stop the motorcyclist, who then fled and crashed into a guardrail. The rider was pronounced dead at the scene. The watchdog says it is still too early to determine whether the officers pursued the suspect, and Montreal police have been brought in to assist with the investigation.
