Anthropic expands Project Glasswing to more organizations

Anthropic is expanding Project Glasswing, a program focused on helping organizations secure important software systems. After starting with about 50 partners in April, the company says the initiative now includes roughly 150 additional organizations that must meet security requirements before joining. The new participants come from more than 15 countries and operate in sectors including power, water, healthcare, communications, and hardware. Many of them maintain software used by governments and other critical institutions, and Anthropic says a serious attack on these codebases could have broad security consequences. The company says the expansion is meant to help defenders adapt to AI tools that can both identify vulnerabilities and support patching. Anthropic also said it is releasing new security products and tools, and is working with partners and third parties on better ways to review, disclose, and fix vulnerabilities in opensource and other widely used software.
