Fort St. John RCMP say one man has been charged and additional suspects are still being sought after a driveby shooting in the northeast British Columbia city on Wednesday night.
Police say a black sedan and a pedestrian exchanged gunfire shortly before 9 p.m. on July 22 in a residential area in the northwest part of the city. Five homes and one vehicle were struck, and a pedestrian later found with a gunshot wound was taken to hospital before being arrested and placed in police custody.
Investigators say the pedestrian has been charged with reckless discharge of a firearm and remains in custody. RCMP are asking for help locating a black 2016 Subaru Legacy sedan with B.C. licence plate A029WA that they believe was involved and fled the scene. Police say the case has involved multiple units, including serious crimes, drugs, police dog services and forensics.
