American Airlines to Open Grab-and-Go Lounge at JFK

American Airlines opens Provisions at JFK with grab-and-go food and coffee A new quick lounge for premium travelers helps ease crowding and cut wait times

American Airlines plans to open a new grabandgo lounge at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport by the end of this year. It will be the airline’s first new JFK facility in more than four years. The 3,700squarefoot space, called Provisions, will offer quickservice food and drinks, including coffee from a barista bar, for travelers who want a shorter lounge experience. The concept is meant to ease crowding in larger airport clubs while still giving premium customers and lounge members access to a quiet space. American already operates several lounges at JFK’s Terminal 8, including highend spaces for premium cabin passengers and frequent flyers, along with an Admirals Club. The airline has been expanding this format at other airports as carriers and credit card companies look for ways to serve more travelers without overcrowding flagship lounges.
