Health officials warn of possible measles exposure in Scarborough

Toronto public health officials are advising residents about possible measles exposure linked to a travelrelated case in Scarborough. According to officials, people may have been exposed at Scarborough Health Network General Hospital’s emergency waiting room on June 28 from 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at the hospital’s kids outpatient clinic on June 30 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., and at Markington Family Care and Walkin Clinic on June 29 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Toronto Public Health said anyone who may have been exposed should confirm they are fully vaccinated and watch for symptoms such as fever, cough, runny nose, red eyes, and rash until July 21. Parents and guardians of infants under one year old are asked to contact Toronto Public Health or 311 for guidance on possible treatment.
