Toronto Raptors head coach Darko Rajakovic said he began preparing for the next season months before the team was eliminated from the NBA playoffs. Speaking Tuesday at the Raptors’ yearend news conference in Toronto, he said he has already started outlining summer development plans and notes for his players and staff. Rajakovic said his focus remains on helping Toronto’s young core improve, including Scottie Barnes, RJ Barrett, Jamal Shead, Ja’Kobe Walter and Collin MurrayBoyles. He said the Raptors made progress during the 202526 season, finishing 4636 and earning the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference before losing to the Cleveland Cavaliers in seven games. He said the team’s next steps include improving paint protection and continuing offensive development, especially shooting and individual skills. Rajakovic also said he plans to keep working on his own leadership and mental performance over the summer. The Raptors are expected to have Brandon Ingram and Immanuel Quickley available for next season, while general manager Bobby Webster will speak Wednesday.
