Vancouver Giants to move to Surrey with new 10,000-seat arena
Surrey arena plans bring the Vancouver Giants to a 10,000-seat event hub See how the new cultural centre could reshape sports, housing, and downtown Surrey
The Vancouver Giants will become the anchor tenant of a new 10,000seat arena and cultural event centre planned for Surrey, B.C., the city announced Tuesday.
The team is expected to move from the Langley Event Centre once the arena is completed, which Surrey says will be around 2030. The Giants have played in Langley since 2016, after leaving Vancouver’s Pacific Coliseum, where they started in 2001.
The arena will be built near Surrey Central SkyTrain and city hall, with city officials saying the broader project will also include a hotel, conference space, and housing. Surrey estimates the development will cost about $360 million and says it is intended to create a new sports and entertainment hub.
