Christine Fréchette says she will stay on as CAQ leader after election
Christine Fréchette says she’ll stay as CAQ leader after Trois-Rivières vote Polls point to a tough race, but her stance could shape Quebec’s next chapter
Coalition Avenir Québec Leader Christine Fréchette said she will remain party leader even if she loses the TroisRivières riding in Quebec's Oct. 5 election.
In an interview with RadioCanada, Fréchette said she is fully committed to the role and would continue as leader even if the CAQ is defeated in the riding or loses power. She also said she would serve a full term as MNA if she wins her seat.
The comments come as the CAQ trails in the polls and faces the possibility of winning very few seats, according to Qc125 projections. Fréchette has been campaigning in TroisRivières, where she is facing candidates from the province's major parties.
