Search continues for man in Montreal's St. Lawrence River
Montreal drowning search continues in the Old Port after man jumped into the St. Lawrence Rescue crews are back on the river this morning as police await answers
Police and emergency crews in Montreal are continuing to search for a man who is believed to have drowned in the St. Lawrence River in the Old Port area.
According to Montreal police, a caller reported Sunday evening that a man had jumped into the water. Fire crews and divers joined the response, but the search was suspended overnight after no one was found.
Rescue boats returned to the area Monday morning to resume the operation. Police said the case is not expected to be criminal, and if a body is recovered, the investigation will be handed over to the coroner's office.
