Lawyers Present Arguments in New York Trial Over Daughter’s Death

Lawyers delivered opening arguments in the trial of Luciano Frattolin, who is accused of killing his nineyearold daughter, Melina Frattolin, during a 2025 trip to New York. Frattolin faces charges of seconddegree murder and concealment of a human corpse. He has pleaded not guilty and has remained in custody without bail since his arrest in July 2025. Prosecutors said New York State Police found inconsistencies in Frattolin’s account after he reported his daughter had been abducted. The girl’s body was later found in a wooded area near Ticonderoga, New York, and her mother is expected to testify during the trial.
