Possible tornado causes significant damage in Quebec's Laurentians

A possible tornado caused significant damage near Harrington in Quebec’s Laurentians on Tuesday afternoon, according to Environment Canada. Meteorologist Dominic Martel said investigators are looking into the storm, but he said he is fairly sure it was a tornado. A tornado warning was issued for southwestern Quebec around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday and was lifted about two hours later. By Wednesday morning, HydroQuébec said hundreds of customers in the area were still without power. Martel said the outage pattern matched the rotation track seen on Environment Canada radar, and the Northern Tornado Project planned to inspect the damage on Wednesday.
