Air Canada flight veers off runway after landing at Montreal airport

An Air Canada flight arriving from Los Angeles veered off the main runway and onto the grass after landing at Montreal’s Trudeau airport on Thursday afternoon. The airline said no injuries were reported among the 156 passengers and six crew members on board. The aircraft, a Boeing 737 Max operating as Flight AC774, landed in rainy conditions before exiting the runway and coming to a stop off the paved surface. Passengers were later taken to the terminal by bus, and Air Canada said the plane would be moved to a hangar for a full inspection. The incident caused a temporary runway closure and led to delays for domestic, international and U.S. flights. The Transportation Safety Board of Canada has opened an investigation, and Nav Canada said it introduced traffic management measures to keep arrivals and departures safe while operations were disrupted.
