Victoria police say imam attack suspect also robbed another man

Victoria police say a man accused of attacking an imam in downtown Victoria last week is also facing charges in a separate robbery and assault earlier the same night. Police say Vincent Edward Abraham is charged with robbery and assault causing bodily harm in connection with the alleged attack on Imam Ebrahim Ali, the head of Masjid AlIman, and with robbery and assault with a weapon in the earlier incident. According to police, Ali reported that a stranger forced open his car door on Fort Street on June 18 and assaulted him. Police later learned that another man had allegedly been struck and robbed about an hour earlier on Douglas Street. Both victims suffered minor injuries, and Abraham is in custody pending a court appearance.
