Iran reviews U.S. proposal as Lebanon fighting continues
Iran-US temporary deal may ease war tensions and open sanctions relief talks See how stalled negotiations, Lebanon fighting, and the Strait of Hormuz shape next moves
Iran is reviewing a proposed temporary agreement with the United States aimed at ending the war, while indirect talks remain unresolved, according to Iranian media. U.S. President Donald Trump said negotiations have continued without interruption.
The conflict, which began in late February, has escalated into a stalemate involving Iran, the United States, Israel and Hezbollah. Talks have focused on a limited deal that could ease pressure on Iran and address the Strait of Hormuz, while Washington has kept sanctions relief tied to Iranian nuclear commitments.
At the same time, fighting in Lebanon has continued. Israeli drone strikes on Tuesday killed several people in southern Lebanon, and Hezbollah said it fired antitank missiles at Israeli forces near the border. A partial ceasefire announced by Lebanon on Monday has not yet fully calmed fears among residents, with many still displaced and more talks expected in Washington.
